Blood flowing in veins, arteries, capillaries, saliva in the mouth, lung mucus inside the airways – all of these movements constantly create shear stress which applies force. Such force can cause activation of cell surface receptors which leads to a very different picture compared to what is traditionally studied in static well plates.
With our system it is possible to simulate this human dynamic environment.
